Dedication and Service

The Seaforth Lions Club is the oldest and longest running service club in Seaforth, established by a charter with Lions Clubs International in 1924. The club members focus on service to the local community with their primary project being the operation and management of the Seaforth Lions Club Park and Pool. Each year thousands of people enjoy picnicking in the park, playing ball on the diamond or swimming in the pool.

The club’s other service projects include the annual Trout Derby on the first Saturday of May and the annual Santa Claus Parade on the last Friday evening of November, and vision and hearing screening for Kindergarten students in each year.

In addition to the service work that club members undertake, the Seaforth Club sponsors local initiatives including, but not limited to, the Seaforth and District Community Hospital Foundation, Diabetes Canada summer camps for children, and the Lions Foundation Canada service dog training program.

Monies raised from our organization's projects are used to benefit worthy causes with a emphasis on assisting our own local Seaforth community. Just who is supported, and how, is decided at our club meetings. The club meets on the second Monday and fourth Monday of each month from September until June. In addition to the satisfaction that comes from participation in the service and fund-raising work, club members enjoy an opportunity to socialize with other community minded individuals.

Our membership numbers dictate what we can do to help the local, provincial, national, and international communities. Just think what we could accomplish if like-minded individuals, such as yourself, joined us in service as we work to make our world a better place for all.
Can you see yourself as a Lion? We Can!
